Doubting In Your Heart

If there was ever a scripture that was identified with what we call the word of faith, it would be Mark 11: 23: “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and SHALL NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

This was a statement made by Jesus after Peter was so amazed that a fig tree that Jesus had cursed was dried up from the roots.

Jesus told Peter have faith in God which better translated should say have the faith of God.  The God kind of faith declares something, in agreement with the Word of God, and expects what they declared to come to pass, if and only if they do not doubt in their heart.

I like to call the kind of faith we need as heart faith.  This is the kind of faith that has been developed according to the Word of God.

Romans 10: 17 says “so then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”  In other words, what you hear on a consistent basis, you will eventually believe as truth.

God told Joshua to meditate in the word, day and night.  What God was telling Joshua to do was to constantly speak the word until it got down into your heart.

In Mark 11: 23, the statement, “and shall not doubt in his heart”, is referring to our hearts.

The Greek word for heart means the thoughts and feelings of the mind.  This is not doubt in your spirit.  At the new birth, according to II Corinth. 5: 17, we become a new creation.  That new creation speaks of our spirit man, not our minds.

Our spirits are created new unto God.  However our minds need to be renewed. Romans 12: 2 tells us not to be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

By meditating, reciting the Word of God on a consistent basis, we are transforming our thinking and eventually our feelings to conform to God’s truth and not mans way of thinking or speaking.

Heart faith will move the mountains of adversity we will face in our lives.  When anything contrary to the Word of God opposes us in this life, those spoken truths will cause our thinking and our feelings to oppose what that adversity tries to do to our faith.

Mountain moving faith is faith that consists of a mind renewed to what God says that will not doubt or question God’s word.  We have the authority given to us by God to overcome every obstacle we face in our walk of faith.

I John 5: 4 “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.”
