Becoming Conformed To the Image of Jesus

Romans 8: 1 (amplified) “Therefore there is now no condemnation, (no adjudging guilty of wrong), for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.”

You can often judge how mature you are based upon who rules your life.  Do you respond, make decisions and speak according to what your flesh or emotions are telling you? Or do you take what you are feeling or seeing and compare it to what the Word of God says?

If your senses or your emotions say things contrary to what the Word of God says, it is your choice to decide how you are going to respond, especially what words will come out of your mouth.

Jesus died to redeem us from the curse of the law.  When a person receives Jesus as savior, they also need to receive Him as Lord of their life.  We truly do not trust in Jesus if we do not agree with His words.

God has sent us anointed pastors and teachers for a purpose.

Ephesians 4: 12 “For the perfecting (maturing) of the saints…”

Verse 13: “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (mature) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

Romans 8: 19 tells us that we are to be conformed to the image of His Son.  To be conformed speaks of a process of being pressed into a mold.  A mold is the exact shape, form and pattern of what we are being conformed to.

Romans 12: 2 tells us to not be conformed (pressed into the image of the world) but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.  Transformation is the process by which we are TOTALLY CHANGED.

This word, transform, is where we get the word, metamorphosis.  This is the process by which a caterpillar is changed completely into a butterfly.

As we find, receive, believe, speak and act upon the Word of God, we are being changed (conformed into the image of Jesus Christ).  This is a process that takes discipline, consistency and time.

Once you are born again, your spirit, once dead to God, becomes alive unto God.  You are blessed with the ability to now comprehend and fully understand the things of God.

John 3: 3, “…verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see (eidon: fully comprehend) the kingdom of God.”

God has given us the ability to understand His word.  Now it is our responsibility to seek it, find it, receive it, believe it, speak it and live it.

Make the decision to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
