Value Each Day

Many times when I wake up each morning, I quote this scripture: “This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” Sometimes that is a hard thing to say when things don’t seem to be going right.

In Psalm 90, we read about the immensity of our God.  His plan, His purpose, His timing.  It states that a thousand years is like a few hours to God.  There is no timing with God.

Psalm 90: 12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

We need to value each day.  We are on this earth for one purpose and that is to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (His righteous ways).  It isn’t about a climb up the ladder of success or a goal to acquire great wealth or great popularity.  We are in God’s school of learning.

I love Psalm 25: 4 – 5 “Show me thy ways O Lord; teach me thy paths.  Lead me in thy truth and teach me.”  Here is the secret of taking each day seriously, seeking Godly wisdom for your life. “For thou art the God of my salvation; ON THEE DO I WAIT ALL THE DAY.”

Everyday should be a day to value.  Each day is another opportunity to seek and find God’s wisdom for your life.  It doesn’t matter what the day may hold or what challenge or situation from yesterday is pouring into today.

WAIT ON THE LORD, ALL THE DAY.  Waiting is not a time of inactivity.  Imagine going out to eat and your waiter is just standing in the corner doing nothing.  That is not the type of waiting this scripture is talking about.  To wait on the Lord is like doing the job of your waiter in the restaurant.  He or she is fulfilling the responsibilities he or she is assigned as a waiter.  It involves activity.

We are to seek and find God’s wisdom for us through the study of the Word of God and prayer, while loving and serving others.  Then God will give you what you need to grow that day.

Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart.  He who seeks will find, in Jesus Name.  Value each and every day.
