YOU JUST NEVER KNOW!
How many people do you know who believe that Jesus Christ is their personal Lord and Savior? How many times have you or those people said, “Well you never know what God’s will is for our lives”. Or “I wish I knew the will of God in this or that matter”.
So many believers think that God’s will is a mystery and we go about our lives never knowing what God has up His sleeve to test our loyalty to Him. We blame Him for every bad thing that takes place in our lives as if God is going to see how long you can hang in there before the real you surfaces and you curse the day you ever gave your heart to God. “Aha!” God says, “I knew you were only a mediocre believer.”
There are many mental conditions that describe a parent who gets their kicks out of tormenting their children with unpredictable behavior. Temper tantrums; cruel physical punishments; depraving a child food, shelter or clothing; failure to supply the love and attention every child needs to grow up mentally sound. When such parents are exposed they are usually punished and sent for mandatory therapy sessions to correct such cruel behavior. But how many believers see their Father God that way? You never know. Maybe today God’s going to give me a sickness or disease or a car wreck or a job loss. Who can know the will of God?
In the Bible, which describes life according to God, it says we can know the will of God. Rom. 12: 2 (KJV) “Be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove (know as certain) what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
“That you may know”. Sounds pretty clear to me. In other words stop deciding what is or is not God based upon what the world thinks and says and start renewing your mind. How do you do that? Read the Bible and find out what God says about God; what He really thinks about you and what how life should really be lived. You would be surprised how incorrectly we have been taught about who God is and how He wants to treat us. Bottom line: He is the good guy who is always there to love and help us because we are His children.
If you want to know the will of God, His character and nature, His plans for you and what you can expect from Him, read His will: His Testament. I know you will be pleasantly surprised to find out He does not suffer from some of the mental ailments and hang ups that we do. God is good and has great intentions for your life.
Jeremiah 29: 11 (amplified Bible) “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”
